Christian Vuust
Saxophonist, composer
Born in Aarhus, Denmark, in 1964. Tenor saxophonist and composer. Also plays soprano and alto saxophone, clarinet and bass clarinet.
Associate professor at the Royal Academy of Music, Aarhus, Denmark. Teaches saxophone, ear training, jazz ensemble and entrepreneurship.
Has studied at Berklee College of Music, with Herb Pomeroy, George Garzone, Hal Crook and Joe Viola. Private studies with Jerry Bergonzi.
Has performed/recorded with Aaron Parks, Ben Street, Jeff Ballard, Hal Crook, Alex Riel, Lars Jansson, Audun Kleive, Silje Neergaard, Per Jørgensen, Kazumi Ikenaga, Pablo Held, Pauseland, Must, Den Danske Salmeduo, poet Peter Laugesen and many others. Has toured in Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Estonia, Greenland, Iceland, England, Germany and Japan.
Has recorded 19 albums as leader or co-leader; and over 60 albums as sideman.
